Mrs. Knoepfel's Computer Science Discoveries classes were challenged to build projects that brought a physical or environmental aspect to their apps and circuit boards they've used with coding! There were a lot of cool projects that the students developed!
Sophomore Riley Laisure built a flash light that can be controlled by the app and the flashlight. It even has an SOS mode which makes the flashlight flash red and white to signal that you need help.
Freshman Mikailyn Rommel built a small house with a door in which red and white lights flash when the door is tripped. An alarm in the house sounds, and you also get an alert on the app that the alarm has gone off. She can also turn the regular lights on and off in the house from the app.
Freshman Aeris Rippons built an app that plays a tune from the circuit board and can be controlled from the app and circuit board to allow users to play a musical chairs game.
Freshman Travis Burton created a boxing game that shows how many hits have happened to the boxer on the app. For every hit that the boxer takes, a light will light up on the circuit board.
Sophomore Lizzy Hesson built a teacher assistant box that can be controlled by an app in which if the class is doing well, the light is green. If the class is getting loud, the box turns yellow, and if the class is too loud, it turns red. She also has a text box on the app where the teacher can type messages that will be announced to the class as the colors change. #ColonelTOUGH
