Congratulations to our CRHS wrestlers on their fantastic performances at the Maryland 1A/2A State Wrestling Tournament! Junior Evan Alexander earned a fourth place finish and junior Anthony Alexander earned a sixth place finish!
Evan and Anthony both battled back through the consolation bracket after taking loses in the championship quarterfinals. Evan was able to win his consolation semi-final match and move into the third place match where he fell and ultimately took fourth place. Anthony lost his consolation semi-final match and ultimately took 6th.
Evan and Anthony become the third and fourth CRHS wrestlers to place in the Maryland State Wrestling Tournament in the coed division, joining two-time place winners Jordan Gabriel and Austin Alexander.
Junior Landine Dorleans and sophomore Ashley Fleurissaint both placed eighth in their respective weight classes! Each wrestler demonstrated determination and resilience throughout the consolation bracket. Landine battled and won two matches, while Ashley fought through three victories, showcasing their perseverance and competitive spirit on the state stage.
In addition to the success Evan and Anthony had on the mat this weekend, they recorded the most combined wins in a single state wrestling tournament for our CRHS coed team (7) and, combined with Landine and Ashley, recorded the most wins at the Maryland State Wrestling Tournament for our CRHS wrestling program (13). #ColonelTOUGH #homegrown
