The CRHS Gender-Sexuality Alliance wants to wish everyone a Happy National Coming Out Day. The US first observed National Coming Out Day on October 11, 1988 to mark the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights and as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of living as your most authentic self. Whether you're lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, asexual, intersex, or Two-Spirit, be proud of who you are and your support for LGBTQIA+ equality this Coming Out Day! #ColonelTOUGH

Welcome to our new directed study instructional assistant, Mrs. Vassiliki Lyras! She graduated from Beaver College/Arcadia University with a degree in early childhood and elementary education and worked as a pre-school teacher. She fell in love with the raw and wild beauty of Alaska and ended up living there for 12 years. She worked in the school system as a substitute teacher, an English as a Second Language tutor for Native students, and a deaf interpreter. After living in New Jersey for a few years, she moved to Maryland and is married with two daughters. She has a homestead with chickens, goats, three cats, one dog ,and lots of veggies. She loves being outdoors and digging in the dirt, reading, sewing, canning, and staying active. #ColonelTOUGH
